Although every athlete is different, and you will need to experiment to find out what works best for you, the below is a sensible starting point to help you build a good matchday routine.
A supplement to this is an athlete diary where you record what prep you did, how you felt both physically and mentally, and how the fight went. Now you can obviously record the results, but as the opponent will have a big part to play in this outcome, it is important to understand what you can control and separate the results from your personal progression.
It is also a good idea to record your training, sleeping, and eating habits in the run up to a competition, as well as any other factors that may have influenced your physical and mental condition.
Some people will leave a competition with a medal (hopefully), but others leave with a wealth of information to review and build on!
