On Saturday 23rd November, Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain (TCGB) held it’s Pre-Dan Grading technical seminar which is held in advance of the December exam.
CYTA’s Master Connor French kicked things off with a lively warm-up before we all split into groups to focus on different areas of the grading syllabus. Master Dean Gibbs, who holds the position of Technical Director on the TCGB committee, along with the other senior instructors of TCGB, worked with students from a range of clubs across the association, providing advice and pointers as they enter the final preparation stage before grading.
All CYTA members who attended worked hard and represented us well as always. We were also pleased to welcome Carrie, our newest red blet, into the seminar. Red belt is the lowest grade that can attend and although Carrie still has a black tag grading to go within CYTA, attending is a valuable experience to see what will be required at Dan gradings. (As that black belt grade is almost within touching distance!)
Master Mark Drury is next in line to grade again from our CYTA black belts. The seminar provided 4 hours of close work and scrutiny with the association’s Masters and Grandmasters, which is all valuable preparation, and a great example of the continued development we should all look for no matter what grade we get to.
Well done to everyone from CYTA who attended and supported the seminar!
